Described as having a ’60’s throwback style’ and a ‘plug in and play attitude’, The Sonik Seeds are a rock ‘n’ roll band from Leeds with influences from the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Sonics and The Kinks.
Their first demo, Hello Devil, was recorded and mixed by Miles Kane’s guitarist, George Moran, at Tim Hampton’s (Bromheads) Crystal Ship Studios in Sheffield; an undeniably experienced rock ‘n’ roll influence has already been infused into their music, even at this debut stage of their career.
Hello Devil is a nod to ’60’s garage, no doubt partly due to the fact that it was recorded on a Harmony Rocket guitar and Elpico Green amp – the same set-up used on a lot of Kinks records. Yet the track also has a raw, fresh sound of a new band offering something a little bit different. With an aim to bring rock ‘n’ roll back to the forefront of British music, The Sonik Seeds’ punky attitude, nostalgic ’60’s riffs and catchy lyrics make them one to watch our for.
The Sonik Seeds’ first few live gigs have gone down extraordinarily at The Viper Rooms in Sheffield and Milo in Leeds. Reviewers have been impressed by their fast-paced, attention-grabbing songs and talent which has been dubbed as as ‘way beyond their years’.
